Just down the street in front of an apartment building stands the most perfect and beautiful Lily. Today was very overcast as we await the ‘Pineapple Express’ to come through – we are supposed to receive upwards of 2″ of rain while northern California should get blasted with several feet of snow. But more about the picture – with overcast skies, the light was very flat so I placed a 600 ex-rt flash on a light stand with a Westcott Apollo 43″ ORB octobox light modifier slightly elevated, camera right on 1/4 power. Camera was on tripod. There was a breeze, so the flower kept moving – I took several images in order to focus stack, but with the movement, it wasn’t working, so I processed this one image.
Shot with Canon 5D3, 85mm f/1.2L with Canon EF25 extension tube, f/9.0, 1/200″, ISO 100
I’ve never seen one soooo close. Looks so unreal. Great job.
Thank you!
