After a day that had me reflecting on the many things I have to be grateful for, I decided to journey down to tourist central in Santa Monica, the pier. Sometimes it’s a bit too crowded for my taste, but today I was really enjoying the diversity, the energy, the participants and spectators and just allowed myself to be washed in gratitude. The sunset was nice, but it was fun heading the original ‘Muscle Beach’ off to the side watching newbies and advanced participants alike on the slack lines set up, people playing on the rings, rope climbing, swinging, and other activities. In the grassy areas, there were people with great strength and control over their bodies doing handstands and other maneuvers. And as the sun set, I headed over to the water’s edge and just enjoyed the sun going down, the splash of color across the sky, the birds soaring around, and the various people coming out with their cameras. It was a nice, peaceful evening to help round out the day.
