Day 155 – Wedding & Baptism

Today was a great day!  I was asked to photograph a wedding for a friend along with a subsequent baptism.  The wedding was at 8AM in Lincoln Heights, the baptism was to start around 1030AM followed by a recption.  What a great time!  Such a warm and welcoming community.  My dad has been diagnosed with cancer and has had surgery and is now undergoing chemotherapy and our nanny has been praying for him.  Additionally, her church has a mission by hand making beautiful throw blankets, praying over them, and handing them out to the infermed and cancer patients.  During the service between the wedding and the baptism, they presented one to me to give to him, then prayed over it, me, and my dad.  The blankets are based on Acts 19:11-12 which reads “11 And God was doing extraordinary miracles by the hands of Paul, 12 so that even handkerchiefs or aprons that had touched his skin were carried away to the sick, and their diseases left them and the evil spirits came out of them.”  While we know that the blanket itself is not the cure, the representation of this loving act was very moving for me.  God can do amazing things and has certainly demonstrated His omnipotence through my life, I wish the same for my dad and other members of my family and friends, and you.
