Day 10 – Getty Villa

Living in Los Angeles certainly has it perks.  Today Alex and I went to the Getty Villa for a high school English project he had.  He needed to immerse himself in culture.  Have you ever taken a 14 year old boy to see 400 BC – 250 AD artwork?  Let’s just say it wasn’t “culture” he saw in the exquisitely carved marble nudes.  It was like going to the museum with Beavis and Butthead.  He….Hehe..hehehe.

I’ll have to go back again soon.  It is in an incredible location in Malibu with an overlook of the ocean.  The artwork is very impressive.  The Zeus was carved in 400 BC.  (Btw, they still use BC and AD.  Go figure, in California no less).
