Had a lovely evening with the wife and little one! Here they are, cruising up the escalator and enjoying the views around them. How I long for the days when I could wear my baseball jammies out in public! 🙂
Shot with Canon 5D3, 50mm f/1.2L @ f/1.2, ISO 100, 1/160″
Lovely image!
Thank you!
You’re welcome! Is photographing your family your favourite thing to capture?
I’ve committed to a picture a day to force myself to become more familiar with my gear and how it responds to various ISO, Aperture, and shutter speed mixes; practice various techniques, etc. I do love my kids and family and enjoy capturing them, but I must confess, with my “day job”, it has become difficult to plan out my daily shots, so I sometimes default to them. My favorite shoots so far have been when I went on mission trips to the Dominican Republic and went into sugar cane villages and other areas for medical purposes, provide food, clothing, etc. And going with a group of people who are having an experience and being able to memorialize it beyond an iPhone snapshot is completely gratifying, especially if I can provide images of lasting impact on those I produce for.
This is something I’ve been trying to do for some time! I can fully understand that, spontaneous shots are always so beautiful too though. Wow that sounds incredible!! Do you have a post on those trips? I’d love to see them.
Here’s a few from the last couple of trips to the Dominican:

Definitely rewarding!
