Baseball season is finally upon us. It’s hard to believe that Alex is now in high school and no longer is eligible for little league until high school is over. Once over, he will slide to Pony just in time for playoffs and All Stars. In the meantime, today was his first ever foray into high school ball. Since he’s in a fairly small school, they only have a varsity team – and those boys can throw fast and play well! He always had a good age for baseball, generally older than the other kids. This time? He’s definitely one of the youngest. This was only a scrimmage against St. Monica’s, but he played two innings (2nd base and left field) and batted 1x. A bunt was called for his at bat and he laid down a beautiful sacrifice! Dropped down third base line and barely rolled. His sacrifice paid off as the runner advanced to third while he was thrown out at first. Great start to a fun season! Practice every day and 21 games. Definitely more than he had with Santa Monica Little League and I can’t wait to see how much he progresses by the end of the year! Go #Seawolves!
